James L. Cochran

I am a multi-sport varsity athlete at Athens Drive Magnet High School in Raleigh, NC, competing as a 6’1” OLB / SAM linebacker and NCHSAA 4A Regional Wrestling Champion (190 lbs). Currently ranked #1 in my region in wrestling, I’ve developed discipline, leverage control, and composure under pressure that directly translate to linebacker play. Competing at a high level in both sports has strengthened my toughness, accountability, and ability to perform in critical moments. Off the field, I am a Junior Attorney with Capital Area Teen Court and founder of NextGEN Perspective, a student leadership initiative focused on discipline, accountability, and service. I take pride in developing as both a student and athlete and bringing toughness, leadership, and competitive energy to everything I do. My goal is to compete at the highest level while continuing to grow academically, athletically, and as a leader within my community. Class of 2027.
